Whoever thinks this game is stupid is an idiot. Having everything the devoted gamer wants, this is a taste of heaven.

User Rating: 9.7 | The Legend of Dragoon PS
Even though this game received terrible reviews by those big, corporate people, it beats the $@%! out of those other successful games. With pristine 3D renders, a superb fighting system, and a moving plot, this piece of art is easily the best game I have ever played.

Ah, the backgrounds. How can a person talk about them with anything but wonder? I was amazed when I saw the water swishing to and fro with the light glistening off it. Awe struck me glimpsed the panoramic view of the countryside and city. The renders found in the Legend of Dragoon have something new games will never have: simplicity. Always it's just stuff like terrible ground renders, corny hair, and idiotic flat trees.

After I adjusted to the fighting system (which took about 2 minutes), I couldn't wait to hone my new additions and find out which item works best on which enemy. In the battle system, a person must use timing and reflex to inflict damage. If an addition is complicated, more skill is needed. If an enemy counters, press circle instead of 'x'. Soon I discovered the eight elements and their virtues as well as their downfalls. One might think water is always better than fire, that wind always beats earth, and light always beats dark, but no, not in this game. Perhaps fire evaporates water? Maybe the earth is too strong for wind? Who says light always beats dark? With the items, the gamer can only buy a limited amount because otherwise they would easily squander their hard earned fortune. Some of the plethora of items includes status effect items, multiple attack items, singular tapping offensive items (where the gamer rapidly taps 'x' for more damage), multiple tapping offensive items (same thing with all enemies), healing items, and other miscellaneous items.

Yet the plot is the key feature in the game. In the beginning young Dart (the main character) is abruptly forced into the war between imperial Sandora and Basil. While venturing through and attempting to end the raging war, he finds many companions who aid him during the rest of his undertakings. Eventually he discovers the power of the dragon, the dragoon knight. With this he pursues the man who formed a conspiracy with imperial Sandora, took a secret national treasure, killed his best friend, and destroyed his hometown just to capture his childhood friend Shana. I was amazed, horror-struck, and overjoyed throughout the remainder of the game.

In conclusion, with the jaw dropping 3D, revolutionary fighting system, and heart wrenching plot, this game shines among all others. For anyone who's never played it, buy it. For those who have played it but didn't like it, go smell your trash can.
