An amazing game that didn't deserve a 6.4 from Gamespot.
The Legend of Dragoon has a great story... I don't want to ruin it for anyone so I'll just say that it is very good, and will not bore you at all. The combat is also very good. While it is turnbased, such as most Final Fantasy combat, there is a bit of user skill needed to get the best attacks. There is a square in the middle of the screen after you use an attack, and then a larger square quickly envelopes the smaller one in the middle. If you press the button at the right time, when both squares overlap, you will get a special bonus to your attack. Depending on the attack, you may have to press it multiple times, and sometiems multiple buttons as well. While it's hard to explain and probably seems stupid now, it is a very unique style to the RPGS, especially in the Playsation 1 time, that should not be overlooked.
The characters are all great and they are in a nice plot that will keep you playing for hours. This is a very enjoyable game that every Playstation owner should have, especially if you like RPGs. This game is an example of how even Gamespot can get a score wrong... look at the community reviews and you'll see why.
