A memorable RPG with a very different battle system

User Rating: 8.7 | The Legend of Dragoon PS
RPGs have grown quite a bit already, but most of the time we find them with the same battle system; push a button, attack, get attacked, push button again, attack...and so on. But The Legend of Dragoon is different; very different.
The game puts you in the shoes of Dart and his friends. The story is great but not as unique as it could've been; you'll fall in love with a girl, rescue her, find out more secrets about her and eventually save the world. Yes, we've all done it once, but you'll have lots of fun doing it again.
The battle system is what really sets this game apart. Instead of your simple button pressing, you'll have to press the X or O buttons at the right time; think of it as a rythm-game RPG battle system. Sounds fun? Heck, it is! As you progress through the game, you'll have to press longer and more complex sequences, but the drag is that you only use that one X button; it would've been nice to use more.
The graphics are ok.
The sound is very good; you won't forget the game's songs in a long time.
Replay value? Not much, but it will take you about 40 hours to beat the game, and there are a bunch of secrets and extra stuff you can do; it could push it to 60 hours.
Give this game a try; you'll love it.
