Probably one of the most overrated games on the ps1
Unfortunally it goes down from there.
The music seems uninspired, nothing very memorable. While we are on things you don't want to hear the voice acting is terrible. I know games back in 2000 are not known for good voice acting, but this is a company like Sony.
LoD is a very strait forward RPG... a little too strait forward. The fact that there is almost zero exploration due to following a dotted line on the map totally ruins part of the console rpg element. Item management was also a very tiring ordeal. As was the slow pace of leveling. While the concept for the battle system was good, it ultimately failed. Each character could only do one physical type move at a time, and each had an extremely limited number of magic based attacks. And while the attacks did look exceedingly cool at the time you get sick of anything after seeing it 1000 times. The fact that Sony could of done something like allowed characters to link attacks (legend of legia style). Combine attacks (Chrono Trigger/Cross)
or add a slight twist to the tap X and occasionally [ ] system. You can find this game fairly cheap now, and it does give you a lot of time to waste, but I would spend that time playing another game.
