This game may be "linear" in many respects. The powerful hero trying to save his girl accompanied by goofy, mysterious, and powerful friends. Nonetheless this game takes the RPG genre and turns it on its head. The most interesting of which is the battle system which is enhanced with a new fighting system known as "additions". This system allows you to affect the hits made on an enemy which gives you a bigger role in the action. Combined with the impressive albeit "tired" idea of transforming into a more powerful being in combat as a dragoon this makes the battle system within Legend of Dragoon one of the most innovative since final fantasy. The story is lush with intrigue, humor, and a massive but predictable twist at its end. All things considered, Legend of the Dragoon is one of the greatest rpgs ever made and for the cheap price you should be able to find it for its definitely a game you should immerse yourself in.
