First off this game was kickass! Not in the sense of its battle system or story or anything for that matter. Just for the fact how Japan rpg's should be played out. This game as a preety basic story, 2 young men go on an adventure to save someone and some huge save the world event takes place. Unlike most rpgs where you get members and such through the whole game this game you basically get 1 main character and the rest are how you say it extra? Theres 13 characters to use where 11 of them only stay in your party for a short period in the game and then return for a second run and then leave for the rest of the game. Only Avin and 2 others will have any effect on there level. So leveling up isn't going to do you alot considering most characters you get are overleveled but not to a point where the good but to a point where they barly gain exp. Another flaw of the game is theres no statues screen with a neat little pic of your character, you got to few them when you equip stuff which I thought was kinda lame. The graphics are kinda chibi looking where everyone is a mini version with cute little bodies and such so theres not much detail in the sprites themselves but the overall graphics are quiet impressive and you will get more respect for it the further in the game you get. The music to this game can be great to bad. At times your like this music blows for battle, but at others your like this music suits great for this sad scene or this raging battle so it has its ups and downs. The game has no extra material after it so you won't be able to reuse characters in any way other then the basic parts there in which can be a downer sadly. The game is farly easy throughout the game, but has its tough bosses from time to time, but overall you shouldn't have any major problems speeding right through this rpg. I think they try to make this up by making you do little mini quest in the storyline and making you run through this long pointless paths it seems lol. The battle system is a little different then your rpg. You got your attacks and spells but theres a map where you attack and a distance things can travel. So at times you may not be able to even reach your enemy let alone hit him on your first turn. This adds alot of depth to the battle system. The spells are mostly the same since you get so many characters come and go they give basically everyone the same stuff. Everyone has there own special skills and specials which adds a bit of a bonus to the boring same battles at times. The battles at first seem dull and boring, but improves alot near the end and you will respect it. The game can take a farly decent time to beat around 30-40 hours and is alot of fun at the same time. If you never got a chance to play this game like I did I advise to check it out or just buy it as its probly on sale somewhere. Its to great of a game for an rpg fan to pass up!
