The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning - Does this new beginning revitalize the has-been game series?

Believe it or not I was first introduced to video games at the age of 4 by my dad. Spyro was the first playstation game we got (Beforehand it was all about the nintendo.). All of the Spyro games released on the PS2 are definitely disappointing compared to their predecessors. Though this game easily tops Spyro: A Hero's Tail and Spyro: Enter the dragonfly, it definitly lacks in the overall quality and is a far cry from masterpieces like the Final Fantasy series or Kingdom Hearts. The game includes the voice talents of David Spade (Sparx) and Elijah Wood (Spyro), possibly to mask the mediocrity of the game, but even with these well known actors, the game fails. If you want a quick, easy to play game, this game is a good choice if you don't mind if the game is only mildly engaging. However, Spyro definitely doesn't rank high by my standards.
