This Zelda game really took full of the 3DS capabilities, as it received many top scores and even some Game of The Year awards, it’s definitely worth playing, and as an avid Zelda fan myself, I knew I needed to play it.
Story: 8/10
This Zelda game actually carried a very good story along with it especially toward the end. Although, it is very similar to A Link to the Past, it is refreshing enough to make it feel different.
Score: 9/10
Anyone who is a fan of the classic Zelda music will not be disappointed here. The old favorites are back and some remixes make them sound better than ever.
Gameplay 9.25/10
Gameplay is just like most Zelda games, but with a big game changer. Morphing into the walls with one of Link’s new found powers completely changes the way you look at a Zelda game. This innovative system unlocks new ways to solve puzzles making it a fresh new entry to the series. This game also allows you a lot of freedom by both allowing you to do the temples in any order you choose and to get whichever items you want as you gain enough money for them. This innovative style really lets you feel freedom other games have lacked.
Graphics 9/10
The 3DS makes great work of the making everything look sharp and crisp while still having the old school, Link to the Past feel to it. The game also makes great use of height as seen especially in the temples. This will definitely amaze you the first few times you see the levels of depth the game has.
Difficulty 7.75/10 (0 being the easiest, 10 being the hardest)
In the beginning, you’re going to be dying a lot. Some enemies can lay down some heavy hits on you, and when you only have a few hearts, you’ll be dying in about two or three hits. Once you get a bit further and get more upgrades, this begins to go away, but you’ll still need some fairies on potions to get you through certain dungeons or boss fights.
Fun 7.5/10
As much fun as exploring Hyrule and Lorule are, you may find yourself beating this game fairly quickly, despite the new levels of optional things to do, the world is pretty similar to A Link to the Past. However, the creative boss fights and the various and creative puzzles make this game very enjoyable as you try to save Hyrule.
