It's truly a rare thing indeed, to have a game live up to it's hype as much as this game does. But yes, it is truly as good as everyone says.
To have this enormous open world to explore - almost instantly, gives away such a feeling of freedom. Almost no linear progression, you can actually beat the final boss without having to visit a single dungeon or shrine, but I won't recommend trying it though. Hyrule castle is well guarded to say the least.
The first time I was given the parachute, and left the great plateau, the game advised me to go to Kakariko village to talk to an old lady, but I didn't get there until many hours later. There are so many distractions along the way, waiting to be explored. So many interesting places, characters, sidequests ++
I have probably played this game for over 120 hours by now, but I'm far from finished. I have not yet explored the entire world, still have over 40 shrines left, and quite a few sidequests as well. There is just so much to see & do. Amazing job Nintendo, one of the best games you've ever made - for sure!
