Not a Zelda game

Many people have praised this game for what it is, an open world video game. This however, is not a Zelda game. Much of what previous entries have focused on is downplayed in this game. This game incorporates a lot of open world mechanics. There's a large open world people can roam around, there's multiple armors people can buy, there's a hundred different weapons. But there are no dungeons in the game. This game has shrines, and divine beasts. There are 120 different shrines in this game that you have to find, each one contains a simple puzzle that can be completed faster than it takes to find the shrine itself. There are no heart pieces this time, you have to complete four shrines for either one heart container or a stamina upgrade. The divine beasts are the closest things to dungeons in this game. They are however mostly empty save for a few simple puzzles and one boss fight. They aren't even necessary to finish as you can fight Ganon whenever you wish. You don't even need the Master Sword. This game did not challenge me at all with it's puzzles. This is a huge disappointment as the dungeons have always been the focus of the game. Weapon variety sounds fun at first but your weapons will break as fast as you find them. You'll constantly be looking for new weapons. If you find a weapon you like, too bad, once it breaks it's gone for good. There is no way to fix weapons or improve weapons. Even the Master Sword has a limit to it, despite having to complete half the shrines to obtain it. The multiple armors sound nice but there are barely any to find. In all of my time spent in this game, I found one piece of armor that was not sold in the store. The only classic tunic you can get in this game, without buying amibos at ridiculous prices, can only be obtained after finishing all 120 shrines. There is no new game plus where you can keep this tunic either. It's a complete waste. There isn't even more than one save file which is inexcusable for a game of this type. Zelda was never about wandering around for hours doing nothing. Zelda has always been a game about clever dungeon designs that make you think. People may see this as a fun open world game, but it is a poor Zelda game.
