This is a good collection of games, but probably isn't worth its $50 price tag. Or is it...
OK, The very first 2 Zelda games on the collection will feel different depending on what kind of person you are: an "Old School" gamer, or a gamer insisting on staying current with the gaming industry/ a gamer looking for something totally new and a whole new gaming experience. The "Old School" gamer is someone who has been gaming since the Intellivision or NES days. They are comfortable with playing (old) handheld quality games on a console. The other kind I mentioned is explained above. So anyway those who love the classics and are Ok with playing Game Boy quality games on a console will love these. I'm more of a futuristic type of gamer, so I would rather play a "Legend of Zelda Collector's edition" with these 2 games on the GBA. But I still think it is good and all to have them in this collection. my only other problem with these games is that I can't get past the first 2 obsticles in either of these games, but that's just me.
Next, "The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time." This is game is probably the best reason to get this Collector's Edition. OK, I got this "Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition" with my Game Cube Christmas 2003 when they were having the deal when you got a Game Cube, you got this game collection free. Ever since I got it, Just to let you know I never played the Ocarina of Time before this, I've been playing it more than any other thing in the whole game collection. I haven't even beaten that single game until just a month or 2 ago. I have to say, this is one of the best games I've ever played, it's true. It is nice and long, and will hold your attention for the whole game. So, to sum it up, if you have never played the Ocarina of Time, this is a must buy.
The 4th game available to play to full is "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask." This REALLY could have been a GREAT game, but Nintendo screwed it up. It is cool and all that you can pick up these masks along the way and transform into a bunch of these different "Things," but the game is so hard and confusing, that you will probably only pick up 1 or 2 of them before you get sick of this game. The biggest flaw that this game suffers from is that the whole game is timed. In game time, you have 72 hours or 3 days to actually complete the whole game. But don't let the game fool you, a minute in the game is a second in the real world. So that means that in real life, you only have 72 hours to complete the game. But Nintendo added a little twist to it. You will soon during the game recieve the Ocarina of Time, from the last game, from Zelda. And you have to use it at just the right point in time and you also have to consider that it interferes with what you saved and what you are currently doing, so you have to take into account that you have to know exactly how to use the Ocarina if you want to get anywhere in the game. So this is a game that needs a lot of understanding and to this date, I still don't even understand it.
The next and last game in this collection is a 20 minute demo of the Legend of Zelda: the windwaker game. If you do do the demo, you have 3 different places to start from: 1. on a remote island where you can sail across the seas, 2. on an infultration mission to sneak into an enemy base of some sort, 3. and in a firey cave. It is actually pretty fun, but then again, you can only play for 20 minutes and most of the time, you are trying to scroll through all the dialog. There is also a limited number of things you can do. But nonetheless, it is satisfying.
The only other things left in the collection is a movie or 2. One about the history of the Zelda franchise evolving, and the other one solely a preview of the Windwaker.
So overall, this is a MUST buy fo those who have never played the Ocarina of Time and such, but for those who have, it's the same exact games. But this is, in my opinion, not worth $50,well unless you have never played the Ocarina of Time. THOUGH,... I will not reflect my score from how I misunderstand how to actully do the other games, I'm sure they are all great and decent games, I'm just trying to figure them out. (Though a couple don't even seem fit to be played on a big TV)
(NOTE) My scoring for this game is based upon all of the games in this game collection
