Every little thing about OOT comes together to make a near perfect gaming experience.

First off, if you are a little skeptical about playing this since its from 1998 and the graphics are outdated, fear not. The graphics still look great to this day, sure a few parts look outdated (naturally) but the land of Hyrule and all of its dark dungeons still look great even compared to today's graphics. Zelda has been possibly the greatest video game series to date. With OOT being the first true 3D Zelda, it is a game that is beautifully designed, enjoyable to play, and draws you in from the very beginning and doesn't let up until you've finished the game. Is it the greatest game of all time? In my opinion, no. But it's definitely one of the best.

This game has a decent storyline, but storyline isn't Zelda's strong point. You start out as a small child in this game. And as a child you eventually gain access to Hyrule field, which is a huge field that will take forever to walk around as a child. Fortunately you don't have to do too much exploring. The dungeons in OOT are by far the best dungeons in any Zelda game (although the Wind Temple in WW was a pretty good one too). They are designed perfectly, and they are the main part about what makes this game so great. They are dark, dangerous, long, and you need to think really hard to finish each dungeon. (Beware of the water temple. There is no shame in using an online guide for this temple. :P Next is the design of Hyrule. Hyrule Field is a very well designed area, its easy to navigate through and easy to find your way to where you need to go. Do you have to find Zora's River? Follow that stream of water in Hyrule Field then. What about Death Mountain? Well there is a big mountain in the distance with rings around it, maybe head towards there. The music is well constructed and can range from happy music that you will be humming as you are playing, to dark slow music as you are in the dungeons. (The Forest Temple has the creepiest music!) However it doesn't have the classic music from Link to the Past. That brings me to one negative about this game, if you played Link to the Past, you will probably recognize majority of the places you need to go. Ocarina of TIme is pretty much a 3D version of Link to the Past with a slightly different storyline. This may actually turn off a lot of people who are expecting something different from Link to the Past. Overall, Ocarina of TIme is a great, enjoyable game that everyone should at least try. It's the game that really got me into video games, and to this day I can still play it without being bored. If you are a video game fan and haven't played this yet, you need to give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
