As I was scrolling through the Virtual Console games on the Wii I found that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was a downloadable title. I had the game on the N64 but I never really played it a lot , mostly due to the fact that I was scared of the zombies (or redead in Zelda language) in the Castle Town. I never found the game again for some strange reason. Maybe I lost it or something, any how I played The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and instantly became inspired to check out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time again. I mustered up my courage (I'm fifteen now) and downloaded The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time onto my Wii. Was it as good as people said or at least as I remembered, read my review and find out, even though you might have already played it. Once in a blue moon a single game gets released that changes the course of gaming. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was one of those games. With its brain numbing puzzles, and gorgeous graphics this game was an instant masterpiece. Going from 2D to 3D in gaming is very difficult but Ocarina of Time executed the process FLAWLESSLY! The whole adventure in the game is definitely EPIC and LENGTHY, and thats a GOOD thing. First you'll find yourself inside of the Spirit of the Forest which is a tree then you'll find yourself in a burning hot volcano trying to save mountain dwelling people called Gorons. Everywhere you turn the game shows fresh, and unique ideas in level and character designs. The dungeons are lengthy and require some of your brain power, especially the Water Temple, YIKES! But the level design is balanced between intense combat, and crazy puzzles. I won't lie to you, there will be times where you get so angry and confused you may want to throw your controller on the ground, but if you stick with the game you'll find that you will be having an enjoyable experience. The story is fast paced, easy to follow, and it has a couple of twists in the game. ESPECIALLY the one involving Shiek. (you should know his true identity by now, if not, SHAME ON YOU!) The idea of traveling through time has been done many times before, but not like in Zelda form. Once you step through time you will find that all the happy things in Link's childhood have been taken away by Ganondorf, from his home to his imprisoned horse Epona. Just the thought of that makes you want to complete the game and kick Ganondorfs monkey.......... can't say the word. The story is done perfectly and is in balance with the game.
The music and sound quality is top notch, ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC! One could wonder how a single game like this can have so many catchy tunes. For the first time in my life I have realized that video games actually have music in them thanks to the Ocarina of Time. (just being sarcastic there) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an evolutionary masterpiece. If you haven't played it borrow the game from a firend, download it on your Wii, or do something to play it. If you have played it do yourself a HUGE favor and play the game again just to savor it. This is possibly one of the Greatest Games of ALL TIME!
