Greatest Game for the time.
One of the greatest innovations that this game was the lock on combat system. If you were to play this game today it might not seem that inspiring, but this was Link's first 3-d outing and the game's combat plays with a polish that other titles were only dreaming about.
The graphics on this game are really well done, and actually hold up to today well because of the great animation. This is the link everyone loves and he is playable in both his older and younger forms. The levels look astounding as well.
I also really love the music. It is personal preference, but the music plays a good part in the game due to the use of the ocarina. The song of time, Zelda's Lullaby, and Epona's Song will always be in the memory of anyone who has played through this game.
The stages and the boss battles are well designed. Also, there are additional mini games and extra quests you can participate in. There is so much to this game it will keep you busy for quite a while. Even competing against today's games, if you missed this it is worth a look.
