It's just plain sad if you missed out on this classic.

Ocarina of Time was breathtaking the first time I laid eyes on it. At that point, nearly eight years ago, it sat atop the pinnacle of the gaming world. Three dimensional characters had just broken onto the scene and were wowing gamers around the world. Graphically it was astounding. But not only that, it delivered in a way that no other Zelda game had ever dreamed of. True, Ocarina of Time's predecessors had a huge following but with the introduction of this novel Zelda epic- gamers who had never played Zelda before took an interest. The game was just plain fun. You had an enormous three dimensional environment to explore, new abilities to cultivate, new songs to learn for the Ocarina, a horse to ride and the ability to manipulate time itself. The tasks were challenging but no so much so as to seem arduous; the difficult was just right. You could shoot birds out of the sky with a bow and arrow, swim underwater and even fish. Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda game where I truly felt immersed in the world. It was more fun than I can describe and this review truly doesn't do it justice. Eight years ago this was my favorite game for any console. If you missed it you should try to find an old nintendo 64 (maybe you still have one like me), sit down, and enjoy this game for what it it: an immersive, innovative and exciting classic Zelda game.
