What happened...?

User Rating: 5 | The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword WII
The quality that past titles in "The Legend of Zelda" had, have vanished into thin air. It is the first Zelda that I couldn't finish due to too much fetching, no immersion, weak dungeons and bosses (except for 1) and the overall world design which I found lacking. What else... oh the empty sky, it had lots of potential though.

The story itself was just uninteresting, chasing Zelda all the time just for her to vanish again once I reached her. Ghirahim was just a silly "boss" that appeared multiple times, I just couldn't take the guy seriously, which affected my immersion into the game quite heavily. There was no sense of urgency at all, nobody in Skyloft even heard of the guy or the impending danger.

Annoying sidekick "Fi"... well, she wouldn't be that annoying if she didn't have to state the obvious all the time.

Item upgrading which is pointless, no sense of achievement.

I'm at the final stretch of the game where it decided to present me with more tedious fetching quests, I'm not even going to finish this game as I'm tired of all this tedium.

Getting back on the dungeons, wow, I've never before had this feeling of "just get it over with" before in a Zelda game, but the dungeons should have been the highlight (along with the bosses). Instead what we got was bland corridors with puzzles (can you even call them puzzles?) that didn't require any sort of mental capacity, which resulted in the aforementioned feeling.

And I didn't even mention the controls (oh I just did :( ) that a lot of people seem to have problems with, but they were the least of my problems, in fact I didn't have a problem with the controls at all aside from the occasional cursor resetting.

Perhaps an okay game if it wasn't a Zelda game. For a Zelda game it's a really poor one at that. I can't believe all the 9/10 and 10/10 reviews, how biased are they.
