I dunno whats up with gamespots score but this game is awsome!
I get tired of non stop fps shooters and love how nintendo mixes it up.Say what you want but mario galaxy,metroid prime 3 and now the legend of Zelda the skyward sword are the most innovative titles too grace consoles this generation.
Make no mistake this is pure Zelda to the core.I was really disapointed with twilight princess for some reason,I dont know why but I couldnt get into it.Well after thinking maybe im just crazy the skyward sword comes along and blows my mind.
To start with the controls.While some may cry these controls are actually really good once you get used to them.The sword play is really fun,and after a while you really feel like your actually swinging your sword.It takes some time too get used too but in the end it all feels very satisfying.There are a few times when I think they took the motion controls too far like those stupid spider webs ahhhhhhhhhh, but I guess thats what you really do when you walk into a spider web. Still yet like mario galaxys controls before this one,they did a supurb job of introducing true motion controls to the zelda franchise.It makes everything feel fresh and new.
The graphics,sound and story are all great too.While the graphics are far from anything you"ll see on the X box 360 or ps 3, they have a wonderful artistic touch too them.I love artistic graphics,dont get me wrong some of these newer games have some killer realistic visuals,but real gets boring,thats why I started playing video games too begin with.
The sound is also amazing,I"ll go so far as to say this sound track rivals, the ocarina of time and the wind waker both.People still talk in grunts and moans,but some how this just helps set that famous atmosphere that we all know and love.
Then theres the story,The story is one of the best I have seen since the ocarina of time.You are link of course and you were born on a floating island that the godess sealed from the land below.Strange events transpire and your soon on your way too the land below,the cool thing about this zelda story is they dont rehash a lot of the same stuff they usually do and even the main villan is different,which is cool for a nice change of pace.
I cant say much more than you should buy this game.If you dont have a wii this and mario galaxy 1 and 2 are reason enough too own one.
