One of the most anticipated games of the second half of 2009 has definitely proven to be worth buying.
User Rating: 9.5 | The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks DS
Ok. Let's get one thing straight. The Legend of Zelda is easily the best video game series EVER. However, Phantom Hourglass wasn't as good as zelda standards due to a very average Joe storyline and the infamous, repetitive, and timed Temple Of The Ocean King. However, Spirit Tracks has got to be the best game in Nintendo DS history. The gameplay and puzzles are fantastic and revolutionary. Also, why does everybody hate the train. I mean I can understand not having as much world freedom but ringing your horn, shooting rocks and enemies, and enjoying the crisp and beautiful 3D environments of the best graphical game in Nintendo handheld gaming history. The character development is also fantastic with new entertaining characters such as Byrne, Alfonso, Ferrus, and Chancellor Cole. In addition, the all-stylus controlled gameplay is pretty strong and works very well. Having Zelda as your partner throughout the adventure is super fun due to some hilarious scenes and dialogue. The fact that you can control a phantom is excellent to, as it makes for some cool puzzles and battles. Having the addition of a musical instrument called the Spirit Pipes to the game adds more excitement (except I wish it had a bigger role in the game but that's OK). The bad parts about the game are 1: Non-exploration can get annoying as the Spirit Train must run on a set route. And 2: Although the game is statistically lengthy, it feels as if a dungeon or item is missing from the game (I don't know why). All in all, Spirit Tracks is well worth the $38 and it is a great game for Zelda fans and Non-Zelda fans alike.
