LoZ Spirit tracks has the same Zelda plot we love, but doesn't compare to Phantom Hourglass at all>
Spirit Tracks still has the things in PHG, like the write on map, draw the path boomerang, boombs, and tabable bow and awrows, but misses on the stuff that really distingushed Phantom Hourglass.
For one, some of the items from Phantom Hourglass that I loved didn't return. The hammer was one, and mostly because it was the last item in the game, and players didn't even get to use it much in the first place. They could've brought it back in the secound dundeon so we could use it more than once.Second, I'm concerned for the items that did make it back. Drawing a path for the boomerang doesn't feel the same anymore. Doesn't mean to say that it isn't still cool.......
Third, THE GREAT BLUE SEA! Giving a change by train is great and I really like honking my horn as much as the next guy, but the overworld enemies when you fight with the train are more annoying, as for PHG were the majority of enemies were colourful and fun. Also, the Spirit tower ( the new Temple of the ocean king) isn't as hard, thankfully, but commanding Zelda aroung isn;t the same challenge as the skill of sneaking around with three firefly thingies.
Now that I have the bad out of the way, there are more good to write about, thankfully, such as the new Items. The whirlwind is the first item in the game, and it's pretty cool blowing stuf out of the way. It's only stuns them, unless you blow them to the edge of a cliff. Also joining the whirlwind, is the Sand wand, which will let you shift sand as you please. This is cool, but this is the last item in the game and like the hammer, is only used a whole one major time. Forget the legendary Wind Waker, we are the Supreme Sand Shifter!
The Spirt Flute is new, and like the ocarina or the wind waker, lets you play notes and have an effect on the world in some way. This Spirt Flute is cool because you can actualy play the notes by blowing into the microphne. This can be hard later in the game, but if you lose, it's you're fault, because you have to swich notes fast in order for the games to pass you on to the next stage of the game. We did not see the in PHG, so eat it.
So, three years if the DS is still the leading handhled portable gaming experience, then the next Zelda game should have the following:
The sea
More songs on the new/ same musical insruments
more new items with offence!
Items from past games that were epic!
more dungeons, eg. The forest temple, the sand temple
a more nogalgstic feeling while maintaining the same Zelda formula
And, cooler enemies ( that's you, darn Spinnuts!)
That's my review for Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks, thanks for reading, and enjoy!
