Great game, worthe buying.
Gamesplay: This Zelda game is much of the old infused with some new. Most of this game is the same as old Zelda games, you get a sword and a shield and go around slashing, but this game comes with a twist, you’ll become mini. Though the hacking and slashing will be used while being mini and while being regular size, there will be many items to be used, some of the original as you’d expect like Link’s famous bow and his boomerang, but there will also be new interesting items like the gust jar, which will either suck in monsters or blow air out. Roc’s Cape which will let you jump and be able to do a kind of mix between jumping and gliding, and all items will be used for many things throughout the game, up till the last boss Vaati. Yes this time it is not the long nose, Ganondorf you will be fighting, but the evil magician, Vaati who turned princess Zelda to stone. Through the game you will be accompanied by a hat that talks that never shuts up, who will shrink you down to size to meet, little people, the Minish, who can only be seen by children, and will help you somewhat through the game. If the game was only dungeons then you would be able to finish it in one day, but luckily it’s not, the game is full of side quests to do, and the world is large enough to keep you playing for weeks, searching for heart pieces, and trying to find stones called kinstones which you can fuse with other people, and see miraculous things happen. Through and through, the gamesplay mechanic of the Minish Cap is very nicely done.
Graphics: The Minish Cap is a very cute cartoonish like game, who’s characters can look fierce or cute. The game follows most of the look of Wind Waker, but also has some of the look of the GBA version of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Although Minish Cap is 2D, you won’t see almost anybody complaining about the look, because it’s a game that is very polished and nicely done.
The world of Minish Cap looks extremely good. The Minish world especially, where you can walk by a desk and see a giants head lying on the table, or when you look by a shoe being inhabited with the Minish. The graphics designer of the Minish Cap wanted you to know you were shrunk down, and they have made that clear, with the Minish world looking so realistic in a small perspective.
Sound: The melodies and songs of this game are some of the old Zelda tones, with new ones that fit the game perfectly. For the Minish Cap you won’t have to turn off the sound and listen to your Ipod while playing
Overall the Minish Cap is a great adventure game which if you’re next time in a game store, should really buy. It is the last Zelda game on the GBA, and I would gladly play this game sometime, then play one of my DS games. I highly recommend The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap for the GBA.
