Oh Zelda....... I have never been happier to see you be kidnapped so I can save you in this remarkable cell-shaded game.
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker was the first Zelda title I have ever beaten. So warning, this review may be somewhat biased.
Story : Yet again Nintendo has managed to take a straightforward concept of saving a princess and change it just enough so it seems new again. This game has some of my favorite charaters (second only to Majoras Mask) and I really wanted to know more about their personal lives. That is a rare occurrence. I won't reveal much about the plot, but a real purpose (other than zelda) is given for you to go onward on your adventure.
Music : Great Sea Theme....... nough said. Really though the soundtrack is amazing and the sense of adventure is shown very well just through the audio itself.
Gameplay : The controls were well done with the only exception being the Medley levels. I tried 4 controllers , but everytime I took more than 5 steps in a row I threw Medley across the room for no reason.
Visuals : We all know that the gamecube was the black sheep of the consoles during the mid 2000's , but I think it is one of the best. The graphics really put the Gamecube's visual disadvantages out of commission. The cell shaded graphics really add a sense of childlike awe to the game. I don't want to play realistic games that look like COD all of the time. (I'm looking at you twilight princess) If you want a good comparison, LOZ WW looks a lot like the Sly Cooper games visually.
Conclusion: I love this game and so should you, it can be bought for 19 dollars online and it's worth every penny.
