Every one of us has been taught not to judge a book by its cover. Long-time Zelda fans made this mistake when they caught a glimpse of its new graphical style: cel-shading. Let me say that you are in for a treat.

Gameplay:
Wind Waker still keeps the same mechanics that have been used throughout the series. Battling relies on swordplay and smart use of secondary weapons, and puzzle-solving skills are still present in this installment of the series. Instead of vast, large fields used for accessing dungeons, an incredibly large ocean is used in Wind Waker, which you can sail across freely using your boat. The storyline only requires you to visit a few islands, but there are plenty of other places to visit once the game is completed. Each island is filled with sidequests, and the sea itself is so large that you can have hours of fun just sailing from island to island.

Graphics:
This is the most unique point of the game. Nintendo used the newly popularized "cel-shading" art form to give Wind Waker a more cartoony look. At first sight, this looks like a bold move, but you will soon learn that the style not only fits perfectly into the game, but often enhances the overall experience.

Sound:
Zelda is famous for classic and amazing music, as well as sound effects, and Wind Waker is no exception. Voice-acting is still absent, leaving you to plenty of reading during cutscenes.

Value:
Although not a long game by any means, Wind Waker offers a handful of extras to increase playing time.

As I said before, don't judge a book by its cover. Wind Waker is undoubtedly a great game and will please true Zelda fans.
