One of the best Zelda games to date.
This game is no doubt great. It plays like a Zelda game should, but does it different. Most of the time when you have a Zelda game you go on big field with a few different zones sometimes. But in this one you play in the Grand Sea. There are about 50 different islands and you don't really need to go to all of them but because it's a Zelda game it's full of side quest to get all kinds of different things. From money to maps to find stuff out at sea and back to heart pieces, you just never know what you're going to get as you play the game. What is nice is how easy the game is. There's no puzzle or part of the game that will have you saying what do I do next? The game comes back with all the items you know and love. The bow, bombs, a boomaranga, and the Master Sword all show up in the game. New items are also found in the game like the Deku Leaf. Wind in the game is use largely. You use the wind waker to change the wind, teleport your ship around the sea, and change the time from day to night.
Wow… And I mean it. The game itself is simple is design, but pulls it off very well. The cartoon feel just makes it stand out from other games. When talk about how the game would do based off of it's look gave out mixed reviews I thought people were crazy. When you take a look at the game you can see a few glitches here and there. Like when you're in a barrel and someone is standing through that barrel. But other then that the game looks great. You can also see the different expressions people make and see where they are looking. Other little things like you dripping wet after a quick swim and the lighting all make the game look great.
If there are three series out there with songs that are far past great this would be one of them. The fact the game it's self doesn't have many new songs isn't bad. It uses remakes or different noting of some of the old songs. Maybe not the full song but a part you can pick out in the different areas. The "voices" of the different people is a good thing as well. But one bad thing would be there is only a limited amount of yells and so for Link and others.
The game it's self can be beat in about 15 hours. That is if you don't do the side quest that really make up the game. The only thing long about the game would be sea travel, but you can speed it up in one of two ways. One is changing the direction that the wind blows or two teleport to different areas of the map using your wind waker. There is almost no reason you should get lost in the game. Your boat, the King of Red Lions, helps you out a lot and you have a map of the sea though you have to get fish to fill it out for you.
Pros:
+ Great story.
+ Plenty of Side quests.
+ Amazing Final Boss Battle.
Cons:
- Sailing can get boring.
- Pretty easy to beat.
