Generic Temple Raid! Generic Fight Scene! Generic Plotline

User Rating: 4.5 | The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess WII
So quite frankly when this game came as one of the 3 with my wii. (Metroid 3 and Brawl anlongside) I have to say this one failed to impress, especially comparing it to the standards of the others. Let's be frank, we have all seen the Zelda lineup before - Goodfornothing Princess gets dragged away by an evil dude called Gannon or Gannon(Insert retarded suffix here). Then you, (Generic Mute Hero) get drawn into a generic plotline. Let's face it. The game is extremely slow to start. In fact when it starts you feel like you're at the movies with your three year old cousin watching "Horton Hears A Who" and you can only beg it to stop. If you do however come out from this game alive, it will only be because you are now living in a padded cell.

Good, now you know how badly i found the game-we can move on. In this game, dying is not a problem. While unlike other games cough princeofpersia cough you CAN die, it doesn't set you back at all. It respawns you with 3 hearts (The average amount) and you can try again. And again. And again. Then you realise you are in the wrong freaking room and have to find your way to Generic Temple Room 1 to start your quest for the monkey guys AGAIN. Yes if you picked that up, the first temple is about monkeys. In the game, you cannot actually talk, you just get 3 dots appear on your screen whenever you are asked for a reply. And while you might think the ability to save anywhere is great. In a temple it sends you back to Generic Room 1.

So Goods and Gripes

Goods
-They probably won't remake this AGAIN.
-The battle controls are above average.
-Long.

Gripes
-REAAAAAAALLY Slow to get anywhere.
-Quests without hints can feel too open worlded
-Generic (But you probably picked this up)
-No interesting characters
-This is the one time i have ever wished for a filler.
-Sound is boring.
-TOO Long.

All in all, Link and Zelda are two characters who seem to be able to perpetuate themselves through time by remaking their story again and again. Hell, It's like reading a Garth Nix book series. So until Nintendo lay off their generic, repeditive characters, i'm laying off nintendo. (Playing their games that is, im still quite happy to pay them out.) Please give us a sword baring ninja cross gangsta nintendo-owned character who has emotions so I can get out of the mental ward!

That Be-eth all!
