An almost perfect installment in the Zelda franchise

If there where a graphic improvement on Ocarina of Time, this would be it. If there where a game play improvement, this would probably be it. The only actual thing I think this game falters on, is difficulty. It's far too easy. There where plenty of places that made you maybe frustrated, or maybe you would die a few times, but it's never really a "challenge". The game starts off with Link (or whatever you named him) living his normal life, in his normal village, doing odd jobs, impressing children, the usual. All seems calm and serene, until one of the village children disappear in the near by forest. You are tasked with retrieving the child, a simple task. There are a few monsters here and there, which introduces your first real battles in the game, and you obtain a few handy items. Nothing too serious. Afterward Link is preparing to travel to Hyrule with his mentor, when his friend Ilia scolds him for hurting his horse and walks off with her. Being a necessity to his task of going to Hyrule, Link follows to get his horse back. He finds Ilia and Epona in a near by spring. The wound treated, she allows Link to take his horse back. They converse for a few minutes, until they are ambushed by a group of monsters, who knock Link unconscious and kidnap Ilia. Eventually, Link awakens determined to rescue Ilia. He goes to search for her, only to find what looks like a huge black wall in his way. While observing the "wall" a large black hand seizes him, and pulls him in. The effects of the world beyond the wall morph him into a wolf, and he is take prisoner by inhabitants of the strange world. He awakens, still in his wolf form, in a prison cell with his leg held fast by a chain. When all seems hopeless, a dark figure named "Midna" appears. She explains that what he was pulled into was the 'Twilight Realm', which is expanding over the mass of the world. He breaks free of the chain and escapes, Midna at his side (or rather his top) to find a princess Midna had mentioned. They reach her room, and Link meets Princess Zelda, who explains how a warrior named Zant came to take over Hyrule, and imprison it within the Twilight Realm. Agreeing to help, Link and Midna make a quick escape. They find their way to the end of the Twilight Realm, and Midna reveals her ability to freely pass in and out of The Twilight Realm. They make it out, but Link is still a wolf even in The real world. Together they find a way to get his body back, which gives him the power the shift from a wolf and human at will. Afterward Midna and Link set out to find a way to save Hyrule and rid the world of Zant's evil. But there may be a third party waiting for you.....
Altogether the game play is excellent. New swordplay and items make the game a much funner ride, and helps to improve on the feeling of success when you solve a puzzle. Brand new enemies, some small and feeble, some massive and assertive, as well as old enemies make appearances. This game is much longer than previous Zelda installments, except maybe Wind Waker. Much of it feels like an improvement on The Ocarina of Time, but still doesn't feel tacked on. The story line is a good enough reason to play through the whole thing. It's fun, rewarding, and simple enough to understand. It's just an overall success that requires few improvements, and gives off such fun game play, that its worth the somewhat hefty price. In three simple words" A Must Buy
