Relive the epic adventure… with three characters in one short game. The three characters being Aragorn, Frodo and Gandalf. Two of the characters don’t actually look like the characters from the big screen movie (Frodo and Aragorn). And regardless of the fact that Frodo is the main character in the movie –him being included in the game was not a good idea. It’s not very fun playing with him – in the whole game he only has two weapons, which are a walking stick and some crappy dagger (he isn’t very fast and takes a long while just to kill a weak enemy). This brings us to another question – “Do the other two characters have more swords and/or weapons?” Not really… Aragorn has a crossbow and three swords to change throughout the game (each a little stronger than the last), which is good. But talk about combinations – each player has only one combo except for Gandalf who can cast some spells. The graphics are good and most of the unplayable characters look like replicas of the movies. Most of the enemies are easy to beat unless you are playing with Frodo and his stick. The boss battles were made to be long and frustrating. One of the major boss battles took a long while and since it was required to play as Frodo and you were supposed to throw stones at a tree’s branches. It took a long while. Apart from that, the environments are nice but the puzzles in the game are extremely simplistic and require you to think for a very short time. The assortment of enemies is not very big but there are a few different foes to fight against in the game. In conclusion the game could have been polished out a little more – longer storyline, more realistic characters, more combos etc. But that’s why there are three other LOTR games out there to balance things out.
