An enjoyable surprise that I still enjoy playing even after my LOTR craze
User Rating: 8.5 | The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers GBA
I first got this game back in the early 2000's when LOTR was probably the most popular media in the entire world. Surprisingly however when I pick up this game even now I find an enjoyable hack-em-up slasher game that is great to play with a friend or sibling. First of all, I will say for all you hardcore Tolkien fans out there that are looking for a straight from the book representation of Two Towers, this game isn't that. Instead this game puts you in the role of the character of your choice, and lets you wander through all of the areas associated with the Two Towers movie, while hordes of Sauron's bad guys come at you, which you promptly demolish. The game doesn't suffer from or get bogged down by classes and leveling up, but instead offers you an easy to use interface that hardly gets boring even when you are playing through with your 4th character. Overall I would say that this game is most enjoyable when you bust out the GBA link cable (Gamestop: 2 dollars) and connect with a friend or sibling. Personally my brother and I put about 15-20 hours in this game's co-op story (which has sweet unlockables.) So, if you are looking for an in-depth review of one of the 20th centuries great literary masterpieces, this title may not be for you. But if you are looking for a lot of fun at a very cheap price (i saw this on ebay for like 5 bucks) than pick up this game, you won't be disappointed.
