The game that started a whole line of LOTR games from EA
In this game, you can choose to play as either Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli. Each has their own style of combat. For example, Legolas is a really fast character who prefers to shoot arrows at his opponents, while Gimli is a great melee fighter. I prefer Aragorn because he is a mix of both Legolas and Gimli's style's of combat.
Even though the game is based on The Two Towers movie, Some of the levels (infact almost half of the levels) are from the Fellowship of the Ring. That means you can fight in Moria and Amon hen. I can see why they did this because there really wasn't a whole lot of action in The Two Towers apart from Helm's Deep. Still, it is fun to play in these levels.
For a game from 2002, the graphics are pretty realistic. The graphics look almost like those used in the movies. The enviroments are full of colour and texture.
As you begin to level up, you can purchase upgrades for use in battle. Most of these combos are really good such and helpful such as Bane of Saruman, which with the press of a couple buttons, you can instantly kill an uruk kai. The action and gameplay in this game is really fun to play and will keep you hooked.
The one thing I didn't like about this game, is that it was kinda easy to beat. I actually beat the whole game in 1 day. Since I am a fan of the game I still play it, but if you just wanna try it I suggest you just rent the game. I got it on sale so it wasn't a giant waste. Another thing missing is multiplayer mode. It would have been fun to play with a friend , but thankfully they put that in The Return of the King game.
Overall, I enjoyed this game. Though it's not the best LOTR game out there, it is mildly entertaining. Recommended for LOTR fans.
