Review: The Mark of Kri

The mark of Kri holds a few dubious honors. Like it was the first game I bought for my PS2. And it was one of the first of the slew of cell shaded games to come out in recent years

Story:
Long ago an evil spell was created that could bridge our world with the world of darkness. To prevent this spell form being cast the spell was broken up into 6 pieces. You play as Rau a Barbarian out to discover him self and learn his family's dark secrets, while stoping those whom would use the spell. But what does Rau and the Evil Spell hold in common?

Graphics:
The Game is graphically gorgeous, the games looks like Lilo and Stitch, if Lilo was a killer Barbarian willing to murder bad guys in some the most gruesome ways possible, and the stages look like the scenery from Disney's Tarzan, and is just as large.

Music:
Music and Sound are good in this title. There is not much music but what is there is good, and holds a heavy Polynesian feel, the sound is excellent and adds to the feel of the massive surroundings that are in the game

Control:
Control for The Mark of Kri, is a lot like Metal Gear Solid 2 with more flexibility in the terms of death dealing. You use the left analog stick to scan your surroundings for enemies, whom are then are set to a button you the use that button to attack that person. Then let the gruesome blood letting begin, there seem to be a multitude of death scenes that seem too designed around the way you approach the enemy.

Design:
Like I said earlier the Games stages look like something out of Disney's Tarzan the jungle and each stage is big and impressive and the Enemies AI is excellent. Your enemies are perceptive of their surroundings and are actually expecting an attack, which make this game difficult but satisfyingly so.

The difficulty might scare a few away, but for all of us lovers of games, this game is at the least worth a look, and for 15 dollars or less this game is easily worth that price tag, and your gaming hours.

The Mark of Kri:
Pros:
Gorgeous graphics
Unique Game play
Fun death sequences
Smart AI

Cons:
Game is very tough
