This game had potential. Too bad Shiny felt the need to rush it.
This the most glitchy, bug ridden game I have ever played since the days of the N64 & PlayStation. Many complained that Enter the Matrix was a glitch-fest but I believe this game is even worse than that. I got stuck in the background several times and I had to restart a couple of scenes because the game froze. At other times there was no sound effects when there should have been. And worst of all, the grab button has a sluggish response which hampers stealth attacks. There were just too many programming errors to count but not enough that I wanted to give up before beating the game. The only real shining point for this game is the focus infused combat. Matrix fans will find great joy in beating down foes Neo style. The combat is very impressive and can really take off if you put effort into understanding the controls. The audio isn’t anything special but the voice actors did do a good job of sounding like the real actors ( well except for Niobe). The visuals have an artificial like look that aids in give giving the game the unpolished feel I mention earlier.
Good: cool action, good voice acting, and a better overall feel of being a Matrix videogame
Bad: glitch/buggy programming galore, still does not feel up to today’s game-play standards
Neutral: Despite this game being fairly decent Atari will still go belly up
FINAL VERDICT: This game had so much potential but stumbles to a stable above average ranking due to bad programming and lackluster presentation. Thankfully, the novelty of great action wears off just after beating the game.
