Are the claims of "artistic value" coming from the FPS crowd?
This game is slow to develop and just goes nowhere. I tried for hours to run into something cool. The first time I discovered something in the woods, okay, it was mildly interesting, but it just doesn't go anywhere. And the ending? After blundering around lost, meeting a few people, picking a bunch of flowers, collecting a handful of objects I go into the house. It was hard to navigate inside the house. The doors were locked. Nothing to do. Wander around until you get the ending. Just lame. Lame.
I find it comical how people are lauding this as "artistic." Just because it's boring? Just because it risque? Insinuating sex with minors makes it artsy? You cannot claim the forest is artistic - it never changes! It's the same drab look over and over. The clearing with the scarecrow is cool - but that's about it. Oh, you can walk slooooooowly around near the foggy bog, but that was so boring and tedious that I never did figure out what all that was about. Get it? Too boring, too tedious, game over.
And I don't care if you think I'm not artistic! I've read thousands of real books and can play 4 different musical instruments. I've been a musician for nearly 30 years. I've been to dozens of real museums and art houses. I even own some real paintings. My mother painted artistically for all of my childhood. I grew up around the stuff. It's not lost on me! "The Path" is boring and leads nowhere. If you play it and find it drab - please don't doubt your artistic ability. Sheesh.
