If you're a fan of the classic Ninja Gaiden games, chances are you will enjoy the Shinobi games.

The Revenge of Shinobi is a 2D platformer similar to that of Ninja Gaiden. The controlls and gameplay are a little different, but it's basically the same concept. The game can be very very difficult at points, and sometimes may require a little trial and error. The last level can be a little annoying and confusing, but the last boss is even more annoying, and very hard.

You pretty much get 2 generic attacks, your sword and shrukens. But you also get 4 special attacks, that are very handy, but you have to use them wisely. The music in this game is also very good, it's inspired by most of the late 80s-90s disco music, and it uses the Genesis soundchip to its max.

The storyline is pretty self-explanatory, you're pretty much trying to rescue your captured girlfriend, from a Criminal Organization known as "Zeed" The name of your character is Joe Musashi, a Shinobi. This storyline continues through the sequel, know as Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master

I say this is defintely a game worth adding to your collection. Also try out it's sequel, Shinobi III.
