The game is fun, and looks great, but is a bit too easy to beat.

User Rating: 7 | The Simpsons Game DS
The Simpsons game came out on all of the recent platforms, and for the most part all the games seem to have the same flaws: the camera and the length. The Simpsons game for DS takes out the camera issue by making the game a 2-d Side scroller, and the game feels a lot less aggravating. The plot is simple: the Simpsons find out their life is a video game through a manual for it falling from the sky. Okay, maybe not as simple as I said, but it lays the path for some great jokes, which are the real star of the game.
The controls are okay, and the gameplay is good, though you've likely seen it somewhere else. Just think Mario combined with a Spidey DS game, and you have a good idea of the games controls. Each member of the family has a special power: Homer can turn into a ball, Bart can glide and use a slingshot, Lisa has Buddha powers, and Marge can summon mobs to do her bidding. Out of those, my favorite levels would belong to Marge, because in those levels it seems like more of a platformer than a 2-D game. However, Marge has only 3 levels in the game, so it is rather short.
The game doesn't have much for replay value, aside from collectibles and pet Homer, a wicked nintendogs-video game pet farce featuring everyone's fat favorite. The Simpsons game is about a days worth of play, but is fun the whole way through. A good rental game for sure.
