Good Game, But It's Too Short
User Rating: 7 | The Simpsons Game DS
The Simpsons Game on the DS plays differently than its console counterparts in how the camera doesn't interfere as much with the action, it's not nearly as shallow, but there's too much emphasis on pulling levers and jumping from platform to platform, and it has a mix of 2D and 3D platforming. It's still a short game, though, meaning that you will probably beat it in about 4-6 hours, but the great story and funny dialogue that captures the atmosphere and basis of The simpsons franchise and video games (especially Pet Homer where you're stuffing him with junk food and shocking his heart back to health is pretty fun) will keep you coming back for more. Each member of the Simpsons family comes with their own set of superpowers, such as Homer inflating himself from conviently-placed oxygen tanks to get to higher ground and Bart as Bartman where he flys and floats from one platfor to the next. Despite it's short length and seemingly shallow gameplay, it's still a Simpsons game through and through.
