Another Simpson's game, bad or not. This is a great game and the best Simpsons game ever made.
In the story you learn Springfield is being overrun by bees with hidden cameras built in them, strange black vans, and the new Buzz Cola which is taking control of the Springfield resistants. You play as Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge, and Apu. With these characters you have to investigate all these strange things that are happening. Hit & Run plays alot like Grand Theft Auto. The people who made this game did a very good job creating the well known places of Springfield, almost fells you're actually in Springfield. Every character has a jump attack, jump, a regular attack, and a jumping slam attack. The combat system isn't that huge but it's pretty decent. You can use theese moves to kill bees, break open creates, and even hit other people. By destroying object (Crates, Cola machines, bees, plants, fire hydrants, and etc) you get coins. You can use these coins to buy new cars. You just go find people around town to buy cars from (Mostly Gil), you can also unlock cars by winning races and completing certain missions. Also, you can go and buy your character new clothes from different episodes. The outfits range to Ninja Bart to Mumu Homer.
Also, the writers from the show itself wrote the story line for Hit & Run. Every thing also controls like Grand Theft Auto. The driving is exactly the same as Grand Theft Auto, so you're never have problems driving. There's a pretty big collection of cars. There's the usual Family sedan which Homer drives. To the cars that fans of the series will recognize like the Plow King, Dr. Frink's hovercar, The car built for Homer (The Homer) and etc. Also like Grand Theft Auto, you can jack a car at any time you want. In some situations the camera starts to go buggy but this happens rarely There's many little gags hidden into the game. If you look hard enough you're find them.The gameplay is mostly like Grand Theft Auto.
Hit & Run has pretty decent graphics. Nothing really amazing. But, it does a really good job transforming the characters and Springfield from 2D to 3D. But, the graphics are really good.
The sound is excellent. The people who play the voices of The Simpson's did the characters dialogue which really cretes a Simpson like world. the music are also token from the show. So, the original score is in this game. when you're driving and homer yells something hilarious is funny the first couple of times but it gets quite annoying. The sound is really good.
The value is pretty high. You always want to see what happens next in the game's story line. Even after you finish that you come back for more. Because of the huge list of unlockables. You want to get all the cards, the cars, the outfits, and etc. The cards are quite cool by the way, showing stuff from the show's episodes. Or like Grand theft Auto once again you're come back just to explore the huge town of Springfield. You're want to drive and just run around town. The value is very high.
Therefore, this game is a Grand Theft Auto clone but it does the formula really good. It has a great story and excellent , well, everything. If you're a fan of The Simpsons or even a Grand Theft Auto fan or even just a gamer you're love this game.
Hit & Run is a must have.
