For Simpsons fans playing these characters and interacting with the citizens of Springfield is rather entertaining, however, the game is extremely repetitive as it offers the player nothing but driving. Whether you chose to explore Springfield, to play a mission or play against a friend in split-screen mode the entertainment value plummets within a few hours. The game has some high points like the dozens of characters you can play, along with some unlock able ones, a variety of vehicles to chose from depending on your character and some rather unique to the Simpsons universe missions. Surprisingly enough, there is a rather well done physics engine present as objects (including characters) and vehicles react to getting hit in a realistic manner. Although, running over Apu four times with a car should kill him, that doesn’t happen, but he’s not to happy when you do. This is not a horror game after all, it’s the Simpsons. Unique missions like playing Groundskeeper Willie, driving his tractor to knock over as many mailboxes as possible within a set time are entertaining the first two or three times through but the game lacks playability. Overall graphically it is just like the TV show, the characters are funny and the mission storylines are interesting to say the least. I would recommend this game to die hard Simpsons fans and younger audiences who would not mind the repetitive nature of the game.
