I wish it was more like the PC version.
Gameplay: The gameplay is rather stale at the same time addictive. It may start out repetive because every location you visit requires the same tasks over and over, not to mention there aren't any people in the nieghborhoods so what happens is you see some of the other Sims you met from other locations wandering around pass your place, they'll either stop by to ring your door bell constantly like a moron or keep walking by, if that doesn't bother you the sound of the phone ringing constantly will and believe me the phone rings for a long time until someone either answers or decides to take a step outside far away from the house. The game has extreme limits, you also have to deal with fires if you add to many items and the PC version does not have this ( if I ever see Will Wright Im kicking him in the groan hard as I can). Since when did houses catch on fire from owning to many items ? How stupid is that ? The AI system is terrible, other Sims hardly ever interact with other objects but for a strange reason if you buy a computer its the only item they'll interact with constantly, if not that they'll watch TV for seven seconds before getting up to use the computer again. It gets worst when you have to control 6 Sims at once meaning some will be dumb as h*ll while others will help out themselves so you wont have to really do anything for them except make sure they go to work on time but they'll pretty much do the rest if they have high skills or a really good personality. If you have a messed up PS2 system prepare for constant skipping even when the disc is in good conditions because my system does that allot, freezes the game and what not only when Im playing The Sims 2 but works just fine with all my other games without any problems at all. Sound: The characters often repeat the same old gibberish phrases over and over again. Even the older Sim characters sound exacally like the younger Sims characters. It would have been more pleasing if each SIM spoke differently, as I said the game is very limited compared to the PC version. There isn;t really any music in the game except for the music from the radio if you buy one if not that then there is always the DJ System you can buy that has some great rave music to dish out but thats about it. The problem I had with this is the fact that there wasn't enough music stations but your forced to listen to some very if not anoyying music samples. Theres "country, trance, pop-rock, alternative, ambient, Nu-metal, industrial and lounge ." Most of which are horrible to listen to. Certain genres were not included such as "disco, rap ( thank god), classical, and other forms of music." When owning a TV thats another downfall because there are only three or four channels that have the same old repetive sounds and it doesnt make since that your Sim is sitting on the couch laughing at the NEWS, Or Music channel. It would have been understandible if there was a cartoon or comedy channel for them to laugh at but instead they rather laugh...at the news. The Sims 2 is a good game for the PC but the people who decided to destroy it on consoles did a good job at ruining it. Sure it will become fun, and addictive but still...when you think about the PC version you get mad your stuck playing a downgraded version of a game that still cost the same exact store price as it did when it first came out, not only that but even a used version cost the same as a new one and your forced to have a well powered computer other wise the game wont work as well it as it should.
