I gotta admit, after reading some of the reviews on here, i was sceptical to rent The Sims 2 for Gamecube, let alone buy it. But I've actually found it to be quite engaging. I like it much better than the original The Sims and Bustin Out. Now, it certainly doesn't match the pc version, it's just a different style of gameplay. I must admit, that I do sometimes wish that The Sims 2 for PC had missions or "campaigns" similar to its console counterparts. I tend to get a little tired of just living their lives, I sometimes find myself needing structure in the gameplay, and The Sims 2 for Gamecube delivers that for me. Not a bad game at all, as soon reviews had led me to believe. The graphics are a little sketchy, and the people are a little ugly to look at, at first. But hey, for what its worth, i gotta say, it's not bad at all. Plus I really enjoyed the music on the game.
The gameplay does seem to get a little tiresome after awhile, but playing it in doses helps a lot. I still like the story play for giving you something to aim for, so to speak. If you're a big fan of the original open-ended, do-what-you-want gameplay, you might not be too crazy for this game. But if you're into a little bit of structure mixed in with the game, definitely give this one a try.
