Not To Shabby For Only 14 Bucks...

User Rating: 7.4 | The Sims 2: Celebration Stuff PC
Here we go again with the "Stuff" Pack idea from Maxis. While some like it, many hate it more than anything else in the world of The Sims. The newest Stuff pack, Celebration Stuff, adds things to help out your Sims and their parties. The Sims 2: Celebration Stuff adds over 60 new objects (this including outfits, objects, hairstyles, and build mode objects, not the walls/floors but new columns.) However many of these objects can't really be considered new. Take for example the new cakes. The game adds one new wedding cake and one new birthday cake. However they made three recolors for the birthday cake and four recolors for the wedding cake. Now instead of just adding two new cakes in the game with recolors they added each cake as a different object. Confused yet? Basically in your buy mode you now have seven new cakes....although there is really only two since they are just different colors. Besides cakes the game also adds new objects based around the theme of regular parties and wedding parties. For regular parties we get a new buffet table, BBQ, umbrella, tables and chairs, balloons, and some other objects that all match together. For wedding parties we get about five new flower arrangements in the game, some new chairs and tables, a new wedding arch, flower rug, and some wall hangings to match. In Build Mode we get two new connecting columns. When connected one makes flags hanging from one to the next and the other makes flowers. The game also comes with five (I think) ground coverings that look like flower petals on the ground all in different colors. Very nice to use under plants and stuff. We also get several new walls and floors with a party and wedding theme. Like wallpaper that has fancy ribbons hanging on it or carpet that has confetti on it. In CAS we get four new hairstyles for women. One has a Tiara, one has a wedding veil, and the other two have the hair pulled up with flowers in them. For the females we get several new wedding dresses that are all very nice and then we also a bridesmaid outfit in several colors. For the men we get a couple new tuxes all in different colors to match the bridesmaid outfits. This new formal wear comes for all ages including toddlers as well. The Sims 2: Celebration Stuff also adds a few other new things. We get three new lights, two new houses in the lots bin, and five new songs under the "pop" section on the radio which all remind me of a 80's version of pop. Very catchy...though they are not sung by anyone famous. All in all I think this pack is worth it for the money you spend. I mean if you think of it like iTunes...where you spend a dollar an object, then in that case your really getting your money worth. While yes half of the objects are just new recolors of objects we already had though they now appear as whole new objects, it still adds some much needed variety to our Sims party section. But do beware that this pack seems to have several serious bugs that have been seen with many peoples games on thesims2.com so you might want to wait for the patch to come out before you install. But once again if you’re a big Sims fan...what do you have to loose? It's not to bad of a pack for only 14 bucks.
