It's nowhere near as good as the PC. It's got some great features, and some poor. But it's worth a try.
A lot of people are saying it's just a clone of the PC version, it's not. It's got features taken from it but it's hardly a clone.
It's got new features and some stuff improved. For instance; the load times are still much better than they were on the PC – but that isn't saying much; they're still god awful. In the PC version the game loaded the whole map so you could move about without constant loading screens – but in the 360 and PS3 versions, the game loads a small section of the map at once and only loads when your Sim moves to a new part of the map. This meaning that if you want to go into town, you have to sit through another 30 seconds of loading. Doesn't sound like such a problem on a written review, but play it for a few hours and you'll get what I mean.
I had worries about this game coming onto the home consoles due to the navigation and how many options there are on the PC version and to be honest…it's been executed quite well; but it's still complicated and could have been made simpler. The whole idea of the Sims is just a game to chillout to (in my eyes) and on the home consoles it doesn't seem that way. It's not like you can invite your friend over and he'll understand easily how to work it. Also what gets to me is there is nothing to do during day time jobs. I'd like to see atleast an option for this…but this is EA….MEANING IT'LL COME OUT AS AN EXPANSION PACK TO BUY…GAHHH
On the plus side – you now have Karma points which I really like. You collect them by doing wants and I think they come every night at midnight but I don't know in all honesty. Anyway, these points are like rewards – they do things such as "fulfill Sim" and other stuff. There's also a joke "epic fail" Karma thing which I really want to try out, you can select other Sims and make them fail somehow – now that sounds good!
Overall – I think the game could have been executed better. If you went nuts (like me) over the Sims 3 on PC…it's possibly worth a purchase. Sims 2 was executed well onto home consoles but this doesn't quite live up to the standards. The load times are going to drown your fun. But still, it can be addicting. Depends on my mood with me.
I say, try it out!
Thankyou for reading!
