The Sims 3 for PS3/XBOX 360 is the best console Sims to date.

User Rating: 8 | The Sims 3 PS3
Like any other console release of The Sims before it, The Sim 3 for consoles is missing many of the features found in the PC version, but this is as close to the full Sims experience as you can get. Like any other game in the series, you'll either create a Sim and buy a house or just choose an existing family and begin to control their virtual lives. With many challenges to complete, a new karma power system, and many first-time-for-console features, this edition of The Sims 3 is sure to be a worthwhile experience for Sims fans and newcomers alike. Below are some of the PROS and CONS in my opinion.

PROS:
- Age progression: Sims are available in all stages of life, Toddler to Elder.

-Decent build mode: For the first time on consoles, you can build multiple stories and a roof. And almost everything built and bought can have it's color/pattern customized.

-Challenges: This entry lacks a story mode, but a robust amount of challenges provide a great incentive to play and earn rewards, such as new clothing, karma powers, and build/buy mode items.

-Exchange: Features the ability to upload houses you have built, custom items/patterns you have created, as well as Sims you have made.

-Exploration: Just like in the PC version, you are free to visit anyone in the neighborhood and all of the community lots.

CONS:
-Household control: Unfortunately, once you create a household and move them into a home, or choose a pre-existing household to control, you CANNOT change the active household. In other words, if you want to play as a different family, you have to make a different save file and play them in a different neighborhood.

-Clunky build mode: Despite being the best build mode of any console Sims, it's almost too complex for a game pad, which brings me to the next con...

-Controls: Though they do become second nature once you've put in ample time, the controls can be very difficult to get used to, this is especially frustrating in the otherwise excellent build mode.

-Loading time: You'll never experience a 30 second wait through gameplay, but loading screens are everywhere. Each time you go to any section of the neighborhood besides your own, you'll spend a few short seconds staring at a loading screen. They aren't long, but they get annoying very quick.

Kicked out to the extreme: If you plan to remove certain Sims from your home, choose carefully, once you kick a Sim from your household, they are removed from the game, forever, even if they are part of your family tree.

The Sims 3 for consoles features several flaws for people who have played the PC version, and even a few for newcomers to The Sims. But regardless of your experience with The Sims, this game features loads of fun to be had, and as I mentioned before, this is the best attempt to bring The Sims to consoles yet.
