The SIms is fun while you play it but what happens when you are rich and have everything? You are bored to death.

User Rating: 7.9 | The Sims Bustin' Out GC
The Sims Bustin’ Out is probably the best Sims game released for the GCN so far. As of right now that includes The Sims and The Urbz but more may come out. I mean it is a preety enjoyable game but something about it says to you, stop playing me, you are so bored, why are you not playing Metroid Prime you idiot. That being said, let’s get on to the review. The graphics are fine for the most part. It is by no means that great to look at because if you look hard enough you can easily see corners where it should be rounded and things being a tiny bit blocky. These are only minor problems but compared to Super Smash Bros. and Metroid Prime it will not take a genius to see a big difference. But in the end it does not really matter all that much because most of the time the camera is zoomed out anyway and when it is the graphics flaws are not as noticeable. The framerate is pretty constant but slows down from time to time. Even though it does slow down I could care less because it does not happen all that much. Well, the first thing you could say is what sound because there is not much music (but sometimes there is) and when the people are sleeping or just plain old not doing anything then you will hear literally nothing. But, on a good note, the sound effects are very well done so when the door opens or closes you will be treated to a very realistic sounding door noise. The characters also talk in their strange language (simlish I believe) and they will also have bubbles with picture over their heads so that you can have an idea of what they are talking and they will also have plus or minus signs over their heads to see if what they are saying is making the other guy like him more or hate him more. So I guess the sound is fine. Oh god, where to start? Well, basically, there are two modes. One is free play, which is basically the same thing you get on the PC version of The Sims, and the other one is Bustin’ Out which is where you go from place to place unlocking things for your house to use in free play also, completing goals and finally getting all the way to Malcolm’s Mansion which is a gigantic place with all the things you could ask for. (By then you will probably be filthy rich anyway). You also get a car and are able to go from place to place such as the nightclub, the nudist colony and the gothic castle each place being very different and unique. The goals that you have to complete are also very different and in a very large variety from throw a house party to pick up all the garbage in your friend’s house. You will always be rewarded for doing goals and after you do about 7 or 8 in one place you will then move on to the next. Depending on what job you choose to pursue you will live in different places so some places if you are a Mad Scientist you get to go that the Fashion Designer does not and vice versa. There is also a GBA connectivity thing that you can do and if you do it then you will get two new levels to play. You can also buy the arcade machine and play games on the machine on your GBA and earn extra money. One might think that the replayability in Sims Bustin’ out is great because well, duh, it never ends. But that is what the average idiot might think; it is close to perfect but is not perfect at all. One reason is in order to collect all of the items so you can buy everything you need to complete every single goal, that’s right all of them and in order to do this you need to finish all of the jobs and since you cannot be doing two jobs at once to need to beat the job and make it to the mansion go back to and than go back and do the same thing over and over and over again. This can get pretty annoying and you are not going to want to do this over and over so you will never get all of the items. (Unless of course you use cheats). The game will also get pretty boring after a while because you have everything and you are rich so there is nothing to do. You will, most likely, end up putting it away for a while collecting dust until you finally one day say, hey, I have the Sims I guess I will try playing it for old time’s sake. Well, I guess if you really like the Sims series and want another than sure, go ahead and buy it. If you do not like the PC Sims or the rest of the series altogether than stay away because this one will not change your mind. Otherwise rent and see if you like it.
