Based on the popular HBO show, The Sopranos, this game packs action, adventure, but is missing many imprtant things.

User Rating: 6.7 | The Sopranos: Road to Respect PS2
The Sopranos: Road to Respect is based on events in the show. You will take the role as Tony LaRocca. Tony is trying to earn respect from Tony Soprano, pretty much the Don of the family. Throughout the game you will be assigned many missions and tasks. Whether it is fighting a group of mobsters, or just talking to someone at the club. Fighting in the game is pretty good. You will be using either physical contact, or use weapons to take out groups of guys. If you decide to use your fists, then do it when their is either an allie, or if you're going one-on-one. The correct time to use a weapon is if there are multiple enemies. I say this because if you lose your path or hits, and get knocked down, you will be down for quite some time because those guys won't take it easy on you. Also, you will have a gun with you. But if you look up at the top left corner of the screen, there might be stars under your health bar. When there are 3 stars, keep the gun away. When they are empty, shoot at will.

A cool fighting technique in this game is the hot spots. You will have to press Triangle when it shows the triangle icon and it says 'Special' next to it. There is a small variety of special moves. Smashing someones head into door or pressing their face into a board cutter. (OUCH!) Also, when you have grappled someone, make sure to try out the D-Pad special moves. Pretty sweet features. After you are done mudering or injuring that person, snatch some cash or something expensive and buy more bonus material.

There were a lot of things that could have gone better with this game. First off, where is the free roaming? You will be put in a specific spot, and cannot leave the area until the mission or objective is done. But you still cant go anywhere. Also, you cannot fight at any time, even when there is some kind of trouble or anything your character wont like.

I really didn't agree with the Talking Mood feature. You will engage in a conversation and you will have 3 options at some times in the comversation. It is either keep the coversation SMOOTH, NEUTRAL, or ROUGH. Rough gets the other person angry according to what topic you are discussing. Neutral is keeping it rough, but smoothing some of the attitude out of the discussion. Smooth is pretty much either sucking up or agreeing to that last statement. This whole feature was a waste of time.

One last thing I didn't like was the fact that the story is TOOOOOOO SHORT. I played this game for 3 hours and went to bed, woke up played 15 minutes, came back to the house, and beat it within 30 minutes. So that is 3 hours and 45 minutes. I was surprised and, of course, upset with that choice of length.

EXTRA THINGS:
-Don't forget to snag merchandise in certain places. You'll get some cash!
-Make sure to pay tribute to the family to make a better impression.
-Don't always use your gun. Leads to dier consequences.
-You won't die so easy. Strong boy, Tony is.
-AI is great in the game, make sure to help them out. They do the same.
