A worthy sequel to fans of the original, a little iffy for newcomers

User Rating: 8.8 | The Suffering: Ties That Bind XBOX
The Suffering Ties That Bind is the sequel to the sleeper hit, The Suffering, you follow Torque as he escapes from Carnate Island, depending what ending you got will effect the beginning, but it won't stop your encounter with the Foundation, a Paramilitary group that is capturing and studying the creatures from Carnate, almost immediately, you're introduced to the head of the Foundation, a girl named Jordan, you're in their clutches, but soon, you're escaping after the same quake that shook Carnate, but this isn't how it begins, it begins with a flashback to Eastern, you're sitting with your friend, Miles, than Blackmore-the main bad guy-walks in, pushing you around, shortly after, a riot breaks out, but its not your ordinary riot, you soon hear the Slayers attacking the guards and prisoners, once this is done, you're at the officla beginning as described above.

Sound wise is pretty good, some of the original cast is back, you'll be pestered by your dead wife, Carmen, meeting Consuela, if you remember Ernesto from the first, you must help his wife later in the game and who cannot forget the famous Dr. Killjoy, the voice actor does a better job this time around, but its hard to really hear a difference, Michael Clarke-Duncan voices Blackmore and does a facinating job, even Rachel Griffith does a outstanding job voicing her character, the monsters are nowhere near happy, they're creepy, speaking of creepy, you run into a character named the Creeper, he's the most messed up character in the game, but freakier than the rest.

You'll get a fresh new supply of weapons, ranging from a Colt .45 to a M60, along with melee weapons, I found that the guns seemed to work a little better than Melee, cause you take a lot of damage, regardless of difficulty, you fight a wide variety of enemies, this time spanning 15 old and new monsters to kill, one memorable part is when *spoiler* going through Baltimore in the back of a military truck, shooting enemies as they follow you, there are some down parts, one being you'll be able to beat the game under 10 hours, maybe more depending on the difficulty and how you play the game.

In addition to the new content, you get three different endings, along with three different beginnings, each effecting the game and dialogue, fans of the old will praise this, newcomers will have to play the first to understand the story
