The Suffering is just crazy. The storyline and characters are intriguing and completely warped. From the gas chamber ghost guy who's so sadistic to Dr. Killjoy who only appears thanks to projectors scattered all around the island, they are all amazingly well developed. The gameplay in The Suffering is simple enough for occasional players and complete enough for die-hard fans of action games. The ability to choose your path between good and evil as well as the fun puzzles, in addition to more traditional pure action gameplay, make this game very fun. I wouldn't say that this is a must-buy, but it's really, really close...
