JOhn Carpenter's, The Thing. It was a great movie, It IS a great game.

The thing is based loosely on a movie by the great John Carpenter. you are Blake, a member of a rescue team sent to investigate what happened basically to the people that were in the movie. As Blake you are unaware about the shapeshifting alien that is inhabiting the antarctic outpost you have been sent to investigate. the game moves at a fairly brisk pace. You are in it pretty much right away.
Graphics are good, the alien detail is pretty good, for a survival horror, the game is actually pretty bright, not dark and forboding for the most part, but what it lacks in dark atmosphere gets made up for in creepiness factor. Everybody is potentially an alien. Characters are diverse and part of the game is to keep everybody safe and not paranoid. Paranoid troops will shoot you. There are medics to heal you, soldiers to shoot stuff and engineers to fix stuff. You need to keep these people alive.
The weapons were good, the voiceovers where ok and in general the sound was good to excellent.
The boss fights were difficult, but not to the point where you are gonna toss the controller across the room in frustration.
This game is totally underated and it's unfortunate that it is not in more peoples collections. A true survival horror classic
