Telltale Games did so much right when it came to this game especially when it came to the gameplay.
Now that the small flaws are out of the way, let me tell you why I love this game so much. first off I was almost a little bit disappointed with the graphics at first don't get me wrong graphics don't mean anything to me, but the cartoon style made me wonder how they would get some of the emotions through, I was very wrong the emotions these characters convey in this artstyle are even better then they look in with a regular games artstyle, and not only that but the graphics on this game are beautiful. The story in this game is... oh my God... so beautiful may be one of the best storys in a game ever, I mean so good, my God so good. I don't want to give anything away, because you need to play this on your own and see how good this one is but I will give the beggining away. You are a Black man named Lee in a police car for killing a senator as the cop is driving you down the road he hit's something, and it ends up being a walker(A Zombie thats what they call it in this game) The cop ends up dying and Lee ends up getting away barley and notices for the first time what is happening to the world. He runs into a little girl named Clementine that is hiding in her treehouse because her parents are in Savannah and her babysitter became a walker. So after killing the babysitter Lee vows to keep Clemetine safe. After that you will meet a group of people that you will try to survive with. So what I love about the story too is that they make it so scary and so unsettling, you don't know what to expect when you are walking through certain places and it makes the gamer have a rush because of it, their are also parts that are just so saddening and so gut wrenching, like I said I don't want to give anymore away, but there hasen't been a whole lot of games I have played where the story would go so far to do these things and sure maybe some of them were a little too far but thats what I loved about this game, that they made people use their emotions in the story, like what would you really do in this type of situation. The ending is also so good again I'm not going to say what it is but I will say that the emotion it did convey from it made me emotional and few games can say they did that to me.
The gameplay is simple, it's like a point and click game you use it throughout the game and it really does work in fact I find it a lot better in this game then the quicktime events in Heavy Rain. There are some actual points in the game where you will have to use stealth and even shoot at people and they actually work really well, and thats what I love about the gameplay for this one, sure the game is based on pointing and clicking but when it comes to the stealth and action points of the game, they still worked so well. The music in this game is also perfect, conveys the situations in this game even better and I just love it. The characters are also really stand out in fact every single one you wont forget and one huge reason is because the voice acting is amazing, in fact may even be the best in a game yet.
Overall Walking Dead does everything right whether it comes to gameplay or to the story itself, if you don't like point and clicks I don't care this game is a must play to anyone out their, the gameplay style is amazing and I truly haven't played a game where Ive been really attached to all the characters from beggining to end and the story may be the one of the best stories in gaming, definitly in my top 15. Bottom Line play this game.
