Come out to play-ayyyyyy!
The game takes place 1 year before the events of the movie and it depicts how the Warriors was created and how it got some of its members. Then as you keep doing missions it counts down to the meeting between the gangs. The missions mostly consist of beating up other gangs.
After doing missions you can make your character work out, play flash-back missions, play an arcade game or you can just freeroam around Coney Island, the only 2 things wrong with that is that you can't steal cars and the area you can run around in is very small in size making it get boring after a while.
While you are running around the streets you can vandalize stuff, steal car radios, beat up people, mug people, buy stuff, or break shops and steal the items inside. The combat is what makes the game a better beat 'em up than most of the games in the genre.
You can knock down a bunch of people by doing a thrust move, punch, and kick your way through some of the most epic fights I have ever seen in a video game. For an example you can have 4 Warriors on your team vs. 8 Baseball Furies and you have to fight your way out of the fight bloodied and bruised.
The game is somewhat long being between 5-10 hours long including just the regular missions you have to do. The game can get frustrating at times especially when you are cornered by yourself against 6 enemies at once.
Overall Rockstar truly kept the Warriors title at its best and making a very good video game out of it. Can you dig it??!! A 8.5 out of 10.
