OK gaming experts....I'll give you a shorter version with this review. The Warriors is everything people say it is. I agee with all the major game web site reviews....Gamespot's included (except for their take on the graphics). I see nothing wrong with the graphics in this game and I think they are up there in the top ten of all PSP action-type games for graphics quality. This game get's high marks all the way around. Has anyone officially checked? Is this the longest playing single player hand-held game yet? I actually enjoyed The Warriors far more than either of the Grand Theft Auto titles. Funny how all three games are from Rockstar. I'm beginning to see a pattern. The Warriors is fun from the beginning and the games number one attribute is the presentation and menus interface. The gamer will play a few levels before walking into The Warriors home base for the first time. Once there, you can walk to different areas in the room and each one will give the player ALL the different bonus extra's gamers could hope for. Talk about cool....how about playing a 2-D coin operated video game machine in your hangout (while playing your PSP hand held video game) Crazy !
Gamespot classifies this game as a "beat-em-up". It is that, but it's much more...actually its more of an "action" genre. The fighting is a large part, but you'll run from the intimidating gangs almost as much. Looting, mugging, destroying, picking locks, hoping fences....it's all in there. The animations and character movements are excellent. Good background audio with music and chaotic NYC street sounds. The storyline follows the movie, is deep and immersive. This game is way up there on the FUN factor scale.
