I returned it for a full refund.
Technically broken, this game is hard to enjoy without a computer so beefed up on the latest components that you wouldn't have any money remaining to buy the game itself. The bugs are terrible, even after the patch. The combat system is a meager "point and click" to take action formula. The combat animations are really bad, it's something akin to WoW or AoC....I'd expect better from an offline game. Diablo II had a better combat system and it's coming up on ten years old. If the questing system was decent it would serve as this game's saving grace, but unfortunately it is not. The map is difficult to interperet, and finding out WHAT exactly it is you are supposed to be doing and where can be a nearly impossible task.
The camera is my next gripe. No matter which view and control style you go for, things feel awkward and choppy.
And now, for the "grand gem" most seem to feel is the highlight of the witcher...the story. The dialogue, which drives the story, isn't the best I've heard....and the "seperate character view" cutscnes...didn't they go out in 2002?
The plot itself is well done...but it's based off a series of books, so if you're really in to the story, why not just read them?
A good story by no means redeems this title from an otherwise unsatisfying gaming experience.
